The new generation of peelers from WÜSTHOF
If you want to peel fruit or vegetables quickly and thoroughly, you are going to need a good potato peeler or swivel peeler. WÜSTHOF is launching three new peelers, which will not only bring colour to the kitchen, but will also impress during everyday use.
There is a choice of one swivel peeler and two standard potato peelers, each of which comes in black, red, green and orange. The swivel peeler features a typical tilting blade, making it particularly easy to peel round, delicate foods such as tomatoes or kiwis. The blade adapts perfectly to the shape of the fruit or vegetable and wastes little of the flesh.
For foods with a harder skin such as potatoes or apples, it is best to use the potato peeler with a fixed blade. Thanks to the narrow slot, this classic kitchen gadget will not cut away any of the flesh. The sharpened tip is good for swiftly removing dark spots, for example.
If you are peeling particularly thin skin, it is advisable to use the potato peeler with a wide, tilting blade. The blade is positioned horizontally to the round handle, making peeling cucumbers, courgettes or asparagus quick, easy and gentle on the joints. The peeler with tilting blade also has an integrated point for removing the eyes from potatoes in a jiffy.
Whichever peeler you decide to go for, the stainless-steel blades will stay sharp for a long time and are easy to clean once your work is done. The peelers are suitable for both left-handed and right-handed use.
The swivel peelers and potato peelers are available from good retailers.
