WÜSTHOF Performer knives combine centuries of great craftsmanship from Solingen, Germany, with cutting edge manufacturing technology. The DLC coating gives unique hardness combined with the water-repellent lotus effect – so your blade stays clean and glides precisely and effortlessly through food. Each knife is forged from a single piece of Wüsthof steel and is elevated to ultimate perfection by experienced knife grinders. An additional feature, the Hexagon Power Grip with its innovative anti-slip design, ensures safety and precision with every movement.
The Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) coating, created for space travel and motor sports, increases the surface hardness of WÜSTHOF steel from 58 to a unique 104 Rockwell. It is virtually immune to adverse external effects and extremely resistant to heat. WÜSTHOF is the first knife manufacturer in the world to use this technology on a fully forged knife with bolster.
The hydrophobic 'lotus effect' of the surface causes freshly cut pieces of food, such as slices of a juicy onion, to slip away. Cutting feels almost frictionless. The blade repels acids from citrus fruits, as well as fats or starches. Simply wipe and it shines like new.
Each knife is forged from a single piece of stainless steel, ensuring superior purity and durability.
The Hexagon Power Grip with its honeycomb structure gives you a firm grip even under difficult working conditions. You will always use your knife safely and precisely. The handle of glass fibre-reinforced polyamide is easy-care and dishwasher-safe.
Thanks to the precision double serrated edge, every slice is successful, whether through hard or soft crust. Due to the inwardly curved serrated edge of the blade, the double serration operates like the fine teeth of a saw blade and very little pressure is needed to slice all types of bread perfectly
WÜSTHOF is a proud to be part of the 200 years of collective expertise represented by Solingen. The Performer series is of the unsurpassed quality that has made Solingen a synonym for knife craft.
Meet the chefs who helped design these knives.
Four top chefs helped our design team develop the Performer knives. The expert critique of Renato Manzi, Anika Schmidt, Alexander Scharmberg and René Steinbach helped our designers perfect these knives for every type of use, in the kitchen and at the table. They brought not only their immense knowledge and skill at cooking, but their experiences as show cook, athlete, music lover, teacher and gardener. These very different personalities have in common a love of conviviality, which they have devoted their lives to sharing. They are the godparents of the series and we think you'll love to meet them.
