With paper or "French fries"

To determine whether your knife is still sharp, we recommend the paper test at home. Simply take a piece of paper, hold it in the air in front of you and cut through the sheet with the knife and a bold movement. If the blade glides through effortlessly, the blade is still sharp. If not, you should sharpen it.

The easiest way to sharpen knives and to keep them sharp. This 2-stage pull-through, V-shaped Knife Sharpener with tungsten and ceramic steels is particularly suitable for those who do not feel comfortable using Sharpening Steels or Whetstones. With this Sharpener, the knife is simply drawn through the guiding notches a few times - the notch with tungsten steel is used for coarser sharpening (for blunt blades) while the ceramic notch is for fine sharpening (for coarsely sharpened or moderately-sharp blades) – and results are quickly achieved.

Honing Steel for exceptional honing of your knives. Even high-quality knives, such as those made by WÜSTHOF, gradually dull due to use: to compensate, a honing steel should be used regularly. A few strokes of both sides of the knife over the sharpening steel will help you to maintain the sharpness of a good blade. We recommend using a Diamond Steel or a Ceramic Steel to restore the sharpness of particularly blunt knives.

The cutting edge or also grind

Manufactured using the special sharpening process PEtec, it allows for long-lasting clean and precise cutting. The light curve is suitable for mincing herbs. One cuts soft vegetables with the front part and hard foods are cut with the rear cutting part.

When it comes to the finishing touches in preparation, the knife tip is your choice. Cut and chop onions, mushrooms, garlic or other small vegetables.

The end of the blade or bit

This area of the cooking knife can be used for food that is difficult to cut. Because the transfer of weight is greatest here, reducing your effort. With a full-bolster knife, the bit also protects the fingers while working.

Blade spine
Ground absolutely smooth, or “burred” in technical terms, a significant sign of quality. It is broader than the cutting edge and is suitable for cracking shellfish or nuts.

The blade is forged from one piece of stainless steel and hardened to 58° Rockwell. This makes our knives extremely sharp, robust, long-lasting and easily resharpened. The Blade is well suited for shape and flatten foods as well as for pick up and transport what you have cut.
